UPPER DARBY, Pa. (CBS) — A teacher was attacked while trying to break up a brawl inside a Delaware County high school and the fight was caught on tape.
The melee took place last Tuesday at Upper Darby High School.
According to investigators, approximately 60 to 70 students were involved in a massive brawl inside the high school.
At some point during the fight, a 30-year-old teacher tried to intervene. However, authorities say he was punched, kicked and stomped on and suffered a concussion and a leg injury.
Jermaine Robinson, 18, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Five other students, who are juveniles, were arrested and are facing various related charges.
“One way only, zero tolerance. We’re handling the criminal aspect of it, the schools are handling the internal aspect of it and together, we’re not going to tolerate this kind of behavior, it’s unacceptable,” Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood said.
The incident remains under investigation.
