UPPER DARBY, Pa. (CBS) — Police in Upper Darby have charged a 21-year-old Yeadon, Pa. man with one in a series of overnight intrusions into women’s bedrooms dating back to mid-April.
And authorities hope to link him to four additional incidents (see previous story).
Bail has been set at $100,000 cash for Tyrell Booker, who is charged with surprising a young woman sleeping in her bedroom.
She’s the only one who can positively identify Booker, but Upper Darby police superintendent Michael Chitwood is confident that evidence will link him to similar incidents, the latest of which occurred about two weeks ago.
“I can’t imagine,” Chitwood said today. “You’re in the privacy of your home and this bum walks in and… thank god he didn’t hurt anybody.”
Chitwood says Booker does, however, have a history of burglary and criminal trespass, and Chitwood insists that he should have never been granted parole.
